Passenger train narrowly avoids derailment in Tripura due to tracks obstruction

Agartala, Aug 26 (FD) The Agartala-Sabroom local passenger train narrowly avoided a major accident in Tripura. The incident, which highlighted safety concerns and the responsibility of railway personnel, occurred when the train collided with a stone-laden trolley left on the tracks. The quick thinking of the train's driver prevented a derailment, but one of the train's front wheels came off the track upon impact.
The incident took place near Gautamnagar, close to the Bishalghar rail station. With approximately 1,000 passengers on board, the collision caused panic and a sudden stop. Prompt responses from railway officials, the Government Railway Police, and the Railway Protection Force ensured the safety of passengers and the clearance of the tracks.
Passengers expressed dismay at the negligence displayed by those responsible for leaving the obstruction on the tracks and raised questions about safety protocols.
